Quick Tip: How To Stand Out In The Link-Crowd

Links are everywhere these days - on every print ad, commercial, business card, t-shirt… the list goes on and on. Then there are directories and link collections with dozens squeezed together. In fact it’s gotten so bad that we instinctively pass over links without registering them. How can you avoid that your link gets lost in the crowd? How can you increase the chances of people clicking your link and visiting your homepage?

It’s really very simple - so simple that you’ll have a hard time understanding why not everyone is doing it.

Image a busy event with hundreds of people scattering in every direction. The vastness makes it impossible for your partner to spot you. What do you do? Of course, you raise your flailing arms and jump up and down. Now you are easy to distinguish from the crowd.

It’s the same with links. Here is your tip:
Capitilize the first letter of every word in your link. I do it every single time - BookHuntersBlog.com and AllTheseBooks.com. Looks a whole lot better than bookhuntersblog.com and allthesebooks.com, doesn’t it?

It doesn’t seem like much, but I see all-lowercase urls all the time and always wonder why the author doesn’t incorporate this simple trick. So, from now on raise your arms and make yourself stand out in the crowd.
